PTD Names Employee of the Year - Monday, January 03, 2011
PTD Technology is pleased to announce that Mark Williams, Field Services Technician, received the prestigious Employee of the Year award for 2010.  Williams, who has been with the company for 3 years, has been nominated for this award each year he has been employed with PTD.  “Mark’s versatility and expertise make him an invaluable resource to our company,” states Karl Meier, President of PTD.
Williams’ role within PTD Technology is to be the Technician internally for team members, as well as externally, assisting PTD clients with their diverse technology needs.   To receive such recognition, Williams had praise and support from staff and customers alike.  “Every time I follow up with a client, they have rave reviews for Mark, which is not surprising,” adds Amy Dunlap, Customer Advocate.   “Mark’s superior performance, exceptional customer service, integrity, and positive attitude, are just a few of the qualities that landed him the award this year.”

Press Release~ PTD Staff Receives Microsoft Certification - Monday, August 02, 2010
PTD Technology is proud to announce that John Hazen, Help Desk Analyst, has received the certification, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist–Dynamics. Hazen, who has been with PTD Technology for 14 years, will now be able to install and support the new Retail Management System (RMS) Point of Sale (POS) 2009 for clients. 
In his position last year, Hazen assisted clients by answering over 4,700 calls to the PTD Technology Help Desk. Hazen provides support for a multitude of software and clientele, including students who have taken computer training with the company, Tech-In-Time clients seeking troubleshooting assistance, and clients from various projects the company handles throughout the state of Michigan. “You can be sure that if you call John, not only will you get someone who is extremely knowledgeable, but you will also hear his positive attitude and eagerness to help,” says Amy Dunlap, Customer Advocate for PTD. “His expertise, patience, and willingness to help, are great assets to our clients and our team,” adds Dunlap.

Press Release~PTD Offers The Professional Series - Wednesday, June 30, 2010
East Lansing-based PTD Technology will be offering a new series of custom computer training classes, known as The Professional Series. This new program of study is geared toward higher level professional staff requiring specialized, advanced training for their line of work. These courses are unique in that they offer attendees hands-on training at a very reasonable rate, and only take half a work day to complete. The first course in the series, Microsoft Windows 7, is slated to begin July 13.
“We understand that higher level professional staff needs to attain the proper training to be ahead of the curve in the IT industry. However, people have less and less time to give outside of their work schedules. These classes are a great solution to this challenge,” states Karl Meier, President of PTD Technology.  Meier adds, “Many companies are getting away from personalized training. At PTD, we feel the personal interaction is the very element that makes this higher level training so successful.”

PTD Technology Awarded Grant to Provide Services for State Educational Agency - Monday, May 03, 2010

In July of 2009, PTD Technology was awarded a competitive grant by a State Educational Agency.  Under this grant, PTD will provide the State Agency a multitiude of services, including: coordination of the technical aspects of an annual collection of data, data verification and management, as well as training and technical assistance to local agencies.  PTD competed for and won this grant again in 2010.

This new service, Technology Times Blog, will be hosted by PTD’s Technician and main blog author, Mark Williams. “Technology is such a huge component of our everyday lives, and it is constantly transforming. We discovered a great need for people to be up-to-speed on these changes, as technology impacts us on both a personal and professional level,” states Williams.
